I am no pro chef, but I have always loved being in the kitchen. I'm pretty sure always using my Easy Bake Oven as a kid sparked my baking habits. I currently have a few dishes and pastries that I excel at making besides my favorite ready-to-bake cookie dough. Knowing me, I'm always up for a new challenge and I found a great new way to do so. Sometimes I want to try something new, but I don't know where to begin. My Baking Box solved my problems and I couldn't be happier that I got the chance to work with them to review this.
My Baking Box is a $39 per month subscription service where a cute box arrives at your doorstep that holds ingredients and instructions to bake the surprise recipe of the month. The contents of the box includes everything you need to bake the recipe including bakeware. I swore that I was a master on the Food Network when I got my box opened up. Now drum roll for the recipe of the month.....FRENCH CHOCOLATE MACARONS WITH CHOCOLATE GANACHE! If you know me, you will know that macarons are my favorite dessert by far. I'm always buying them, but they can get pretty pricey. It's $2.75 each at my local bakery for a two inch diameter macaron and I usually walk out of the place with
I'm really glad that the directions were so thorough because macarons are very precise to make. Going through each step slowly helped a lot to perfect them. In the end, I ended up with a nice outcome! The macarons had a really nice flavor. One thing I would have done differently is cooked the macarons a little less than the stated time just because the oven in the house is very strong. Otherwise, the macarons were fabulous and I really want to make them again!
Everything about experience with My Baking Box was amazing. If you are like me and love surprises or trying something new, subscribe in time to get the next issued box! This is also a really great gift idea for any baker or foodie in your life. Thanks My Baking Box!
Everything you need is all ready to go... |
Getting everything all sifted! |
The mix should have a "slow-moving lava" consistency, similar to cake batter! |
These are special macaron mats to size them out perfectly. You have to let them sit to dry before actually baking them. |
Chopped up the chocolate to prepare for the filling, yummm! |
Our final, delish outcome! *I am currently about to head to the fridge to eat one now* :) |
They look delicious! :D
